DC4K designers and developers

The development of DC4K was a coordinated effort, combining the expertise of the following people, who worked diligently to create a comprehensive program for children of separation and divorce:

Linda Ranson Jacobs, the designer and developer of DC4K, is one of the forefront leaders in the area of children and divorce. She has been actively involved in ministering to children and their families for years. Having been both divorced and widowed, Linda was a single mom who learned firsthand the emotional and support needs of broken families, and she developed a passion to help hurting families. As a speaker, author, trainer, program developer, and child care center coordinator, Linda has assisted countless families by modeling and acting on the healing love she has found in Jesus Christ.

Stephen Elkins authored the script for the Stories from the Bible video dramas. He also wrote and produced the musical tunes for the Kids Like Me and Kids Singing Bible Songs CDs. Stephen, president and owner of Wonder Workshop, the third largest independent children’s record company, has been involved in ministry for many years. He has written over 200 Christian books, adult musicals, programs and videos, selling over 10 million copies. He has a Bachelor of Science in business with a minor in creative writing. He has been involved in children’s ministry and has a heart to help hurting children heal through Christian music.

David Creech, director of the Kids Like Me and Stories from the Bible videos, is a 20-year veteran of television and film. During the 1990s he wrote and directed Emmy-winning youth dramas for the CBS affiliate WRAL-TV. Since 2000 David has been working as an independent producer/director on a wide range of projects, including dramatic films, documentaries, live TV shows, and the DC4K series. David is based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Currently, David and his wife, Sue Ann, are adopting a little girl from Russia.

Michael Green wrote the Kids Like Me dramas and coached the actors and actresses during filming. He is the fine arts director for a large private Christian school in Raleigh, North Carolina. He has written and directed many shows that have impacted and changed lives. His training includes a Bachelor of Arts in biblical studies as well as professional training in dance, acting, and theater production. Michael also serves as a minister in his church. His passion is to honor the Lord and impact society with the uncompromised Word of the Lord through excellence in theater and spirit.

Linda Moore Williams served as a children’s consultant for DC4K and gave daily input into the materials, ideas, and biblical references. She has been a preschool director or childhood education director in churches in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Russellville, Arizona; Largo, Florida; Boone, North Carolina; and Rogers, Arizona. Linda was formerly the Church Initiative’s GriefShare ministry coach. Linda has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Arkansas in home economics with several hours in childhood education.

Bill Dunn was the theological consultant for the biblical references in the DC4K children’s Activity Book, Leader’s Guide, Lesson Plans, and the Stories from the Bible videos. He graduated from Asbury College and received a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1982. During the next 15 years he served in two pastorates, one in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, and one in Raleigh, North Carolina. Bill then joined the Church Initiative staff, working on research and curriculum development. He is currently working on a Doctor of Ministry degree at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts.

Child Evangelism Fellowship® met with Church Initiative to provide assistance and guidance in choosing stories from the Bible and other scriptural content for DC4K. CEF is the world’s largest mission agency ministering to children. What began as a Bible club in a home has grown into a worldwide ministry that reached more that 6.1 million children in 156 countries last year. CEF carries out the Great Commission with unique ministries such as After-School Good News Clubs®, which supplement children’s education with biblical principles in the nation’s public schools.
